Need a break from studying, fluorescent lights, and indoor air?? Want to make the campus more colorful, livable, and ecologically diverse?
Come get your hands dirty to transform the Japanese garden into a livable (and partly edible!) green space this spring!
CEU's EDIBLE GARDEN WORKDAYS
WEDNESDAY, April 9, 1:00- 4:00 pm,
SATURDAY, April 12, 10:00- 13:00
SATURDAY, April 12, 14:00- 17:00
The Japanese Garden at CEU is currently more of a “concrete jungle” than a garden. The Environmental Science and Policy Department's Organic Gardening Practicum class and Sustainable CEU invite you to come make CEU more livable and edible by making planting boxes from recycled building pallets and planting a variety of salad greens, herbs, flowers, and vegetables. We will hold volunteer workdays/ harvest days throughout the growing season to manage the garden. All CEU and local community members are invited to participate!
Send an email to sign up, indicating one or more of the sessions below, so we know how many people to expect (but drop-ins also welcome!): sustainability@ceu.hu: WEDNESDAY, April 9, 13:00- 16:00; SATURDAY, April 12 10:00- 13:00; or SATURDAY, April 12, 14:00- 17:00
Please come wearing work clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Please meet in the Nador 15 courtyard at the beginning of the session. Light refreshments will be provided.
