Tamara Steger's new article on Roma social and environmental exclusion

This article builds on extensive field research on predominantly Roma-occupied spaces (i.e., ‘settlements’) in Slovakia and focuses on the nature and function of Roma segregation and separation in Slovakia from an ecological socio-political, and economic standpoint.

Students in "Organic Gardening Practicum" class welcome spring

Guntra Aistara's organic practicum students are designing new permaculture-inspired planting areas in CEU's courtyard rooftop "Japanese garden." On March 20, in class, we began seed-starting and weeding of existing garden areas, and made new planters in conjunction with the Sustainable CEU club. See the photoshoot here:

Tamara Steger studies the environmental aspects of the Occupy Movement

Tamara Steger headed to New York City last November 2011 to study the environmental aspects of the Occupy Wall Street movement. A key part of her research was to explore the discourse and public space issues in light of neoliberalist trends and environmental justice.
